Term 2, Week 1

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to Term 2! We started the term with the dedication of our new Cunningham Pavilion building which is a beautiful space if you haven’t had the chance to view it.

It’s a busy 9-week term and I would encourage parents to please stay up-to-date with notices from the College. There is still time to book a parent teacher interview for next week. If you would like to talk to a teacher, please ensure you make a booking by this coming Sunday.

If you are not part of our MSS facebook page yet, I would strongly encourage you to join so that you can see the exciting events that occur on a daily basis here at Calvary. Calvary Christian College - Middle and Senior School 2022 | Facebook

Reminders:

Uniform

As we have moved to our winter uniform for Terms 2 and 3, I would like to add a few reminders:

  • Boys need to wear a tie and must also be wearing a black belt – there seems to be several boys who are unable to locate a belt.
  • Boys’ hair needs to be off the forehead, ears, and neck. If boys have longer hair this needs to be pinned or tied up neatly.
  • Girls are only permitted to have one set of earrings. If they (or boys) have other piercings, these will need to be filled with a clear bar or stud.

Student sign-out processes:

Requests for departing early

Students needing to leave the College before the end of school must have parental permission sent to the Calvary reception via email (info@calvarycc.qld.edu.au) or phone call (07 3287 6222). Once reception has received parental permission for students to leave, then Calvary reception will contact the relevant class teacher to inform them that the student is leaving. This allows us to provide an adequate duty of care for students at all times.

Students feeling ill

Students who are feeling ill need to report to sickbay and the College nurse or a member from student reception will contact their parents.

Invalid forms of parental permission

We are unable to accept a text message on a student’s phone as evidence of pickup (mainly because we required to log this message).
